Abdulaziz (Aziz) Alghamdi received his BASc in Mining Engineering from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 2005, and his MEng in Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada in 2012. Aziz’s PhD research involves investigating benchmarking methodologies for academic buildings in higher educational institutions in Canada using non-supervised machine learning algorithms to sustainability assess water, energy, and carbon flows within universities. Aside from his academic related experience, Aziz has worked for five years in Saudi Arabia for Zahid Tractor and Heavy Machinery (Caterpillar Inc), and for Procter & Gamble covering the Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan.
