Piyaruwan Perera received his BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 2009, his MSc in Civil Engineering from the same univeristy in 2011, and his MBA from The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) at University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, in 2015. Piyaruwan’s current research is aiming to reduce transportation-related environmental and economic impacts by enhancing the use of alternative low-emission fuel vehicles in Canada. Therefore, the thesis will be focused on a “Lifecycle Thinking Approach for Recharging Infrastructure Planning for Electric Vehicles”. Prior to joinging the LCML, Piyaruwan worked as the logistics manager for a leading oil and gas company in Sri Lanka for four years (2011-2015). He has gained hands-on experience in supply chain optimization, fleet management, and operational research-related areas. Additionally, Piyaruwan worked as a planning engineer for the Road Development Authority in Sri Lanka (2010-2011), where he gained experience in project planning and scheduling, pre-feasibility assessment, and project evaluation.
