UBC e-mail:

Sarin Pokhrel received his Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Civil Engineering from Invertis University, India in June 2016. He completed his Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia in April 2019. Sarin’s current research is focused on planning and designing a sustainable urban water system by prioritizing the concept of One Water Approach (OWA). The shift from traditional approach to a modern paradigm, OWA considers drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater as a single entity. The major contribution of Sarin’s research is to assist municipalities in developing a sustainable water management assessment framework such that a practical solution is put forward to tackle the increasing water demands. Prior to joining UBC-O, Sarin worked as a site engineer for a year for Nepal Adarsha Nirman Company (NANC) and was involved in design, construction, and contract administration of multiple civil engineering projects. Some of these projects include inspecting earthquake resistant houses, providing engineering reviews on drinking water pipe laying, water main appurtenances, and installation of valves and chambers.
